Very popular with eventers and show jumpers, but equally useful in dressage, driving and fox hunting. General guidelines: A-F are often called "road studs" and primarily used on hard ground; G-I are often called "grass studs" and are useful on deep footing and grass; J-O are ideal for use on sand or very soft ground.
